What is the proper image size for putting floor images in environment mode?
The recommended aspect-ratio for floor images is 1:1 (square pictures). If you want more control over the picture on the floor, you can drag and drop the image on your scene and rotate it so that it lies on the ground.

It will scale automatically, so the most important thing is the aspect ratio.
