In the regular plan library assets are limited (restricted). Is it possible to add this feature for students?
@anthonydevs, do you mean you want Pro teacher accounts to be able to limit the library assets for students? If so, what do you think are the benefits of restricting the number of library assets to students? How would that help you in your class, with your particular age range?
In most regular plans, library assets are indeed limited, which can be a challenge for students needing more resources. However, many educational platforms offer additional options or upgraded plans specifically designed to provide expanded access.
Hi @anthonydevs we’re also curious - we’d love to know what the benefits and reason for this would be?
We have a few teachers that have also requested this feature “Ability for each teacher to Limit the Library - reduce the number of objects available to the student”.
The students are easily distracted when there are too many options to choose from. By limiting the number of objects, the teacher feels the student will pick an object quicker and stay focused on the assigned task.
Great point @Jennifer_Scales! I think the difficulty with this would be providing an interface for teachers to select items. I can also imagine wanting to limit students initially, to achieve the task at hand, then opening it up for creative purposes.
@CoSpaces_Edu I wonder whether trialling providing a set of objects for some set activities/templates could be a possibility?
Thanks for sharing @Jennifer_Scales
@techleapnz relayed this back to our dev team for consideration!
Hi, thank you! Yes, it’s great to encourage students to explore, especially in the playground setting. However, I do notice they spend time browsing the library - it would be best to have them create based on specific tasks that are assigned
